I am driving change to #buildbackbetterevents by #buildingforwardresponsibly. Events have purpose and create meaning. My mission is to encourage change agents to ensure that events are equitable and sustainable.

I am working with Feria Urbanism on the BCP Future Lab project that is rethinking the future of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole town centres. We want to design places for social prosperity — places of encounter and experience that will inspire curiosity and strengthen community which will, in turn encourage new and existing forms of business. I'm looking at the role of events in this process and outcomes.

Having established some of the first degrees in Events Management at Bournemouth University I am now lecturing part time at the University of Westminster and Kufstein Tirol University of Applied Sciences. This gives me a little space for my voluntary activities as Vice Chair of the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) and Executive Member of the Association for Events Management Education (AEME).

BVEP is the umbrella organisation that represents the UK leading trade and professional organisations, government agencies and other significant influencers in the business visits and events sector. I am Chair of the Skills, Talent & Diversity Working Group. Our current focus is on identifying and strengthening pathways into events, safeguarding and developing talent and improving diversity and inclusion.
